RMA Celebrates LGBTQ Community at Philadelphia Pride Parade
A rainbow of love flooded the streets of Philadelphia on June 9th for the largest-ever Philly Pride Parade, where advocates, supporters and partners to the LGBTQ+ community – including RMA of Philadelphia (RMAPHL) – showed an unwavering commitment to the rights of all people, regardless of how they identify or who they love.
Dr. Jackie Gutmann and several other members of the RMAPHL team raised awareness about LGBTQ+ family-building options at the parade, offering those passing the RMA booth a chance to learn about fertility options for this community. As the director of RMAPHL’s well-established LGBTQ+ program, Dr. Gutmann is passionate about helping LGBTQ+ patients achieve their dreams of family, and does so in a sensitive, compassionate and professional manner.
Through a partnership with the Family Equality Council (FEC), the nation’s premier advocacy organization for LGBTQ+ family-building, RMA recently rolled out the ‘Open Door’ training to employees across the country. The training consists of three courses: ‘LGBTQ 101,’ ‘Trans Fertility Considerations’ and ‘Building an Inclusive Practice,’ all of which provide healthcare professionals an in-depth education on LGBTQ+ terminology, family-planning options, and best practices, including the use of gender inclusive language on all paperwork.
Open Door enhances the already high standard of care members of the LGBTQ+ community can expect from all RMA providers.
