PATIENT SUPPORT SERVICES
Infertility can be physically and emotionally challenging for women and men trying to have a baby. It can be a life crisis for many, often described as an emotional roller coaster.
Infertility often causes feelings of isolation. At RMA of Philadelphia, patients do not have to go through this process alone. We offer extensive support to help cope with the ups and downs that may be faced while trying to conceive.
We work with a number of support professionals who specialize in issues affecting people struggling with infertility. Support groups, mind/body programs, and individual or couples counseling can help address each patient’s personal needs. We encourage our patients to use the resources available, and we help connect them with the organizations best suited to guide and assist them.
For those who are interested in learning more about these services, please speak with an RMA physician.
Complementary medicine, as defined by the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, is a group of diverse medical and health care systems, practices, and products that are used together with conventional medicine. Complementary medicine is not used in place of conventional medicine.
RMA of Philadelphia works with local experts and providers of complementary medicine techniques, including acupuncture, yoga, herbal therapies, and mind/body programs. Our physicians support complementary approaches and may integrate these treatment programs into a patient’s individual care.
Techniques such as yoga and meditation can help women and men better cope with the stress and anxiety of infertility treatment. By helping patients achieve a healthier state of mind, these techniques may even help to improve reproductive function.
RMA offers acupuncture for fertility to patients at our King of Prussia office. Acupuncture before and after fertility treatments has a multitude of benefits: increased blood flow to the uterus, reduced stress levels, and increased sperm count, to name just a few.
Please call our King of Prussia office for more information at 215-654-1544.
